Dropping Off Your Child at Weekly Meetings

When you are dropping off your child at the Scout Hall you MUST bring your child into the Scout Hall and check that there are 2 leaders present for your child’s meeting.  If there is only 1 leader present you must stay with your child until a second leader arrives.  You are responsible for the health and safety of your child until you bring them into the Scout Hall and leave them with 2 leaders.

Church Parades:

We attend Church Parades for occasions such as Remembrance Sunday, St George’s Day, Harvest Festival and Mother’s Day. We will notify you in advance of the dates of these. Children should arrive at church in full, smart uniform at 9:45am. Parents can collect their children at 11:00am, or they are more than welcome to stay for the Church Parade service.

In April, we take part in a St. George’s Day Parade in Leyland, at which each Group member is expected to attend. This will be the nearest Sunday to 23rd April.

In November, we join the British Legion Remembrance Day Parade, from St Leonard’s Church to the War Memorial on Penwortham Hill.

We would encourage all children to come to Church Parades as these count towards the Promise Challenge and is a small way of repaying the Church Sponsors for their support of the Group.

Subscriptions:

Our preferred method of payment is via standing order on a monthly basis. The payments being £10 per month for 12 months (total being £120). Please see the Subscriptions form for details. Subs MUST be paid to ensure your child is fully insured whilst taking part in Scouting activities and it is for their safety, we must insist subs are paid on time.

Gift Aid:

Subscriptions are kept to a minimum with the help of Gift Aid. All you have to do is complete the Gift Aid form and we can then reclaim 25p in the £1 from HMRC. Please complete the form if you are a taxpayer – A form and covering letter are available from the Forms page on the website. Only 1 form is required per family and covers multiple children.

Young Persons Details:

For the health and safety of your son/daughter it is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL that your child’s personal details are up to date (i.e. Medical Details, Allergies, Emergency Contact Details etc.).
Have you moved house or changed your contact telephone number ?
Has your child’s medical details changed ?
If so you MUST log into the Parent Portal on OSM and update your child details.
It is the Parent/Guardians responsibility to ensure that their child’s personal details are up to date.

We would therefore request that all parents/guardians log into their OSM Parent Portal on a regular basis (before the start of each new term) and check/verify that their child’s details are up to date.  Your leaders will then be able to see who verified the details and the date when the details were last verified.

You may get email reminders from your leaders if they can see the personal details have not been checked/verified recently by yourselves.

Leaders cannot be held responsible for any issue due to contact, medical, allergy, dietary information being incorrect.
