Cubs

Our Cub Section takes in both boys and girls from the age of 8 years to 10½ years old.

Cubs meet each week, 7pm until 8:30pm to take part in a wide range of activities designed to be interesting and challenging. During their time in the Pack, Cub Scouts will get the chance to try lots of different activities like swimming, music, exploring, computing and collecting.

Cub Scouts also get to go on trips and days out, to places like the zoo, our local Fire Station, Library, Police Station. They will be able to go camping and take part in all kinds of outdoor activities. Camps are some of the most memorable events of the year for Cubs.

The Cubs have an opening ceremony at the beginning of each meeting where they form a horse shoe around the Leader and the Union Flag is raised, this is then followed by inspection. In Cubs, there are steams which are run by Sixers, followed by Seconders. Each Sixer is in charge of doing his/ her inspection for his group. Cubs make a promise on joining and live by the Cub Scout Law.

Cubs start to become more independent, the programme is about being with friends, becoming part of a team, and participating fully in the adventure and opportunities of cub scouting. Most Cubs will carry on into the Scouts Section.
